The City of Independence will be honoring the service of military veterans this Saturday.

 

 The 2024 Veterans Day of honor will feature an entire day of events. Independence Chamber president Lisa Wilson says it all begins bright and early on Saturday morning.

 

Other events and activities include a military exhibit from 10am to 4pm at the Independence Historical Museum. Admission to the exhibit is free for vets. There will also be the Heroes and Hot Rods Car Show from noon to 1:30 at Auto Zone on North Penn and a Veterans Day Parade in downtown Independence at 2pm. There will also be a comedy show at the VFW on Myrtle Street at 8pm.

 

The Mid-continent Band will play a special veterans concert on Thursday night at 7pm at Independence High School.
