The City of Cherryvale will soon have a new city administrator.
At last night's meeting, Michael Hall was approved to be the new city administrator.
Council Member Norman Johnson made the motion.
Hall was approved after the council voted to waive the three-mile radius requirement for his position, as he is currently a Coffeyville resident. Hall fills the position previously held by Jonathan Booe, who became Montgomery County Administrator earlier this year. Hall will start his job on November 21st, and we'll have a full interview with him coming up soon on KGGF.
In other business, the council increased the number of chickens a property owner can keep to 15, and added a section to the city code allowing bees to be kept in the city limits, but council members voted against having a $5 yearly permit. The council also agreed to have a workshop to discuss a potential water rate increase as Public Wholesale Water Supply District #4 will be increasing rates next year. The workshop will take place November 18th at 5 p.m.
