A weekend hit-and-run accident leaves a pedestrian dead in a southwest Missouri town.

 

 Around 7pm on Saturday night, authorities in Noel responded to reports of a person lying in a ditch beside a roadway. When deputies from the Noel Marshal's Office arrived on the scene, they found a deceased male lying in the ditch. They determined that the man's injuries were consistent with having been struck by a motor vehicle.

 

The victim has been identified and the next of kin have been notified. His name has not yet been released. Authorities continue to investigate the incident, though the have no description of the suspect vehicle.
