Heavy Storms Bring Rain, Severe Weather

Heavy rains and storms across the area leads to a flood watch for most of southeast Kansas in effect through midnight tonight.

The same storm system that dumped nearly 4 inches of rain on the Coffeyville area this weekend also brought severe weather and tornadoes to central Oklahoma and the Oklahoma City area. At least 11 people sustained non-life-threatening injuries after storms moved through the region early Sunday morning. The storms also caused damage to several homes in OKC, while nearly one hundred thousand homes and businesses experienced power outages during the storm. Authorities in Tulsa also said power outages were reported in that city along with downed power lines and debris on roadways.

More rain is forecast for today.
