Arkansas Man Sentenced For Filing False Income Tax Returns

 

 An Arkansas man is sentenced to nearly two years in prison for filing false income tax returns.

 

 59-year-old Carlos Gomez was sentenced late last week for under reporting the income of his business Charley’s Tree Service. Court document indicate that between 2014 and 2020, Gomez cashed customer checks amounting to more than $3 million dollars instead of depositing them into his business bank account.

 

In addition to the prison sentence, Gomez will also serve a year of supervised release and be required to pay $1.4 million in restitution to the U.S. Government and the State of Arkansas.
