A weekend accident on US-169 just south of the 5000 Road turn off to Cherryvale, leaves two men dead and one woman seriously injured.

 

 The accident happened around 4pm Saturday afternoon when a southbound Chevy Camaro driven by 45-year-old Joseph Savage of Coffeyville went left of center for an unknown reason. There, he struck head-on a 2013 Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 18-year-old Connor Barba of Norman. As the Camaro rotated back onto the highway, it was struck on the driver’s side by a Dodge Ram pickup driven by 53-year-old Theodore Osman of Nowata. Osman had attempted to avoid the collision by veering into the southbound lane.

 

Both Savage and Barba were killed in the accident. A passenger in Barba’s vehicle, 41-year-old Megan Barnett of Norman, sustained serious injuries and was taken to Coffeyville Regional Medical Center for treatment.

 

Osman was uninjured.
