A Pittsburg man is seriously injured in a Halloween evening car accident.
36-year-old Felix Baldemar-Gomez was seriously injured yesterday evening when the Ford pickup truck in which he was a passenger was rear-ended.
The Ford pickup was northbound on K-7 near the junction with US-400 near the City of Cherokee just before 5pm. The driver – 37-year-old Francisco Molina-Medrano also of Pittsburg – slowed to make a left turn. That's when the truck was struck from behind by a Chevy pickup driven by 22-year-old Davis Davenport of Farlington, KS.
Baldemar-Gomez was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment. No one else was injured in the accident.
