The Kansas Department of Transportation announces the approval of several highway construction projects set for southeast Kansas.
KDOT has approved just over $1 million for the repair of a bridge near Elk Falls on US-160 over the Elk River located about 6 miles east of the US-160/K-99 junction. Two projects in Montgomery County were approved. KDOT has okayed $1.3 million to install a guard fence along US-166 between Tyro and Coffeyville. Also approved was $1.7 million for the replacement of a bridge over Pumpkin Creek just east of Coffeyville.
The total bids approved for projects in southeast Kansas counties is more than $9 million.
