Joplin Police raid an illegal gambling operation, seizing equipment and cash, and arresting two men and one woman.
The raid happened last Wednesday when detectives from J-P-D served search warrants on a Joplin business called Spin Hitters. Detectives seized 47 gambling machines, business documents, and cash from the establishment.
Three citizens of the country India in the U.S. on temporary visas were taken into custody. Arrested were 24-year-old Ashish Ashish, 22-year-old Pooja Rani, and 23-year-old Gurjeet Singh. All three face charges of Felony Promoting Gambling. Officers requested they be held with no bond, but they were granted a $2,000 cash bond, which each posted.
Their next court date is set for November 6th.
