***** Original Story *****
Severe storms are expected this evening in the four-state area.
Hail up to golf-ball size, winds up to 80 mph and tornadoes are all possible today. An area including Bartlesville, Coffeyville, Chanute west to Winfield and areas north are included in the highest risk area. Timing for areas west of Coffeyville is between 5 and 9 p.m., while storms are more likely for southeast Kansas and northeast Oklahoma between 8 p.m. and midnight. The National Weather Service says It's unknown if discrete storms which could produce larger hail will form, or if storms will develop into a line, which would cause higher wind gusts. A few brief tornadoes embedded within a line of storms is possible tonight. KGGF will provide severe weather coverage today and tonight as needed.
