Authorities have released the name of a woman who died Saturday after walking into a running airplane propeller at an airfield in Derby.
Amanda Gallagher was a Wichita photographer who was at Cook Field in Derby on Saturday taking pictures of a sky-diving group when she inadvertently backed into the running propeller of an airplane. Gallagher was taken to a nearby hospital but did not survive her injuries.
Gallagher also worked as a stagehand in the city and helped set up many concerts in downtown Wichita.
Friends say they plan a large celebration of life in Gallagher's honor by displaying her photography at Century 2 in the coming weeks.
