Today will bring another day of high winds, but a change in the weather pattern is on the way.
Wind advisories are in effect for eastern Kansas, northern Oklahoma and far western Missouri today as winds are expected to gust between 45 and 55 mph. Strong but moister winds than yesterday will still support very high grassland fire danger. Several area counties including Montgomery County remain in a burn ban for this reason.
Tomorrow, scattered thunderstorms will be possible, with a chance of a few strong to severe storms between noon and 9 p.m. Hazards include quarter-sized hail and 60-65 mph wind gusts. KGGF will provide severe weather coverage tomorrow if needed. Another chance of rain is also on the way this weekend.
