The City of Independence is trying to solve its issue of flooding in the basement of City Hall.
Assistant City Manager David Cowan says the issue is with the way the basement in the historic 1916 building is constructed.
At last week's city commission meeting, commissioners approved $25,000 to fix the issue. City Engineer John Garris says the proposed work should help control the current problem.
The next Independence City Commission meeting will be held on November 14.
