A burn ban may be coming for Montgomery County.

 

 County Emergency Management Director Rick Whitson will appear before the Montgomery County Commission to discuss the possibility of implementing a county-wide burn ban due to the lack of rain and on-going drought conditions. Multiple northeast Oklahoma counties are currently under burn bans as is Labette County.

 

Also at today's meeting, commissioners will hear from Melissa Johnson with the Montgomery County Action Council and Brandon Beurskins with Public Works.

 

The Montgomery County Commission meets every Monday at 9am in the lower level of the County Courthouse in Independence. The meeting is open to the public and is also available online on the Montgomery County Facebook page.
