Four people are injured following a two-vehicle accident in Neosho County.
The accident occurred Sunday afternoon around 2:45, when a 2005 Chevy Impala driven by 19-year-old Gregory Lopez of Chanute was traveling northbound on US-169 about 5 miles north of Thayer. Lopez's car went left of center and struck an oncoming vehicle in the other lane. Lopez and one of his passengers 21-year-old Rylan McVey were seriously injured, while a third passenger 20-year-old Camden Hugo received minor injuries. Both passengers are also from Chanute. Lopez was taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin while McVey was transported to KU Medical Center.
The driver of the other vehicle 48-year-old Heather Craft of Fredonia was also seriously injured and was taken to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita.
