Authorities in both Wichita and Tulsa are warning Kansans and Oklahomans of a new scam that has been circulating in those cities recently.

 Police say the scam involves people asking for money to pay for funeral expenses for an 8-year-old girl who has supposedly died of leukemia. Police officers who approached some of the people asking for money, said they could not provide any photos of the child and said they had been asked by a friend to come to the city from another state.

Both Wichita and Tulsa Police say they have seen identical signs but with a different child’s photo. Law enforcement say this is a scam.
