It's Neewollah week in Independence and the downtown area of the city is the place to be for the next few days.
Downtown Independence was filled with the sounds of families and kids taking part in fun and games in the parking lot of Community National Bank last night. It was the first night that the food trucks and carnival midway were open and festival goers filled the streets in search of their favorite Neewollah food while the kids played games and rode the rides.
The grown-ups will get in on the fun tonight with the Doodah Parade at 6pm. The carnival opens at 5 and free, live music on the bandstand begins at 6:30 in downtown Independence.
