The remains of a Winfield man are discovered following a fire at a Canadian motel.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are investigating after human remains were found after a fire at the Driftwood Motel in Deer Lake in the province of Newfoundland and Labrador. The fire occurred on October 19 but the remains were not found until yesterday. The deceased man has been identified as 77-year-old Eugene Spoon of Winfield. Spoon was in Deer Lake for a moose hunting trip.
The RCMP says the fire is still under investigation and the cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
