It started as a weekend for Caney Mayor Josh Elliott at a League of Kansas Municipalities meeting; it ended with an unplanned resignation with the Caney City Council Monday night.
Now former Mayor Elliott says he was hopeful as he left the LKM meeting, but that hope went away as the council meeting continued this past Monday with items on the agenda, especially the grocery store. Elliott says the hope was replaced with.... nothing.
Elliott says he has always tried to be available to residents.
Elliott says there is much more good in town than bad, starting with city officials and council members. He is confident that the good will continue and the bad will get better.
