Osage County Compromises on Non-Profit Event Fees

The Osage County Board of Commissioners holds their weekly meeting and picks up tabled business from last week.

At last week's meeting Art of the Cowgirl event organizer Laura Teague asked the commission to waive fees for the event that was held earlier this month. Commissioners were unsure if those fees would be waived and tabled the issue. District Two Commissioner Steve Talburt and District Three Commissioner Charlie Cartwright discussed the issue at this week's meeting. Cartwright says a compromise would be a workable solution.

Teague's event The Art of the Cowgirl aims to celebrate and showcase the role of women in ranching and the western way of life.

In other business at this week's meeting, there was also an agreement signed that will allow for a school resource officer to be on the Wynona and McCord school grounds through the end of the 2024-2025 fiscal year. There was one utility permit signed for District Three.

The Board of Osage County Commissioners will convene for its next regularly scheduled meeting at 10 a.m. next Monday for those interested in attending.
