Dewey FD Responds to Multiple Fires

Dry conditions in northeast Oklahoma are leading to challenging fire weather conditions.

Yesterday around 2 p.m., the Dewey Fire Department was paged to a structure and grass fire near 3980 and 1100 Road. Upon arrival firefighters found a fully involved barn that had also started a grass fire. Brush trucks from Dewey, Copan, Wann, and Bartlesville arrived and put a quick stop on the wind driven grass fire.

The Dewey Fire Department has responded to over ten fires in the last 10 days due to the prolonged drought, and windy conditions.
