Neewollah kicks off this weekend in Independence.

 

Tonight will be the first performance of Elf the Musical in Memorial Hall at 7 p.m. Additional performances will also take place Saturday at 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2.

 

Tomorrow, the 5K and 10K run and fun run will kick off with registration at 7 a.m. The chili and dessert sampling will begin at 11 a.m. and Independence Chamber President Lisa Wilson says the public is invited to help judge.

 

Wilson says there are currently 16 entries for the chili cook-off and dessert competition. KGGF staff will be broadcasting live tomorrow from 10 to noon with a remote on 104.1 FM. All activities happen in the Riverside Park Oval.

 

On Sunday, besides the musical, it's also Neewollah Night at the Movies with free admission and popcorn at Independence Cinemas for the movie “Ghostbusters” starting at 7 p.m.
