A fire yesterday in northwest Arkansas creates a smoke plume seen around the region.

 

Firefighters from Rogers, Springdale, Bentonville, Lowell, Benton County, Pea Ridge, Cave Springs, Prairie Grove and Little Flock responded around 3 p.m. to a fire at Marck Industries, which is a recycling business in Rogers.

 

One civilian was injured in the fire, but all employees of the plant were accounted for according to the Rogers Police Department.

 

The fire prompted a hazardous smoke warning for the area around 4:30 p.m., and the plume could be seen as far away as Fayetteville and Eureka Springs. The fire was contained by around 10 p.m. yesterday.  The cause of the fire is under investigation.
