A Frontenac man faces charges of 2nd degree murder in a Friday night shooting in Frontenac
Police were called to a Frontenac residence around 8:15 on Friday evening where they found 39-year-old Jonathan Brewer of Frontenac unconscious. EMS was called to the scene and administered life-saving measures on the victim, but Brewer was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to agents from the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, a preliminary investigation indicated that Brewer was involved in an altercation with 19-year-old Michael Simpson, also of Frontenac. Simpson is alleged to have shot Brewer during the argument.
Simpson has been booked into the Crawford County Jail pending formal charges.
