The Parsons Police Department will soon have better security cameras in their police station and lock-up.
At this week's Parsons City Commission meeting, commissioners considered whether or not to upgrade the police security cameras. Police Chief Robert Spinks says the department's current cameras are very old and need to be replaced.
Spinks also says the $20,000 price tag for the new cameras and DVR will not come from the city's general fund.
The city commission voted unanimously to approve the camera upgrade.
