The Neodesha Fire Department quickly responds to a report of a structure fire.
The call came in at 3:17pm, and by 3:19pm firefighters were en route to the scene arriving at 3:21pm. Upon arrival, firefighters were met with heavy smoke conditions and requested additional alarms to ensure that off-duty personnel were available to assist. By 3:23, mutual aid from neighboring fire departments were also called in to provide further resources and support. At 3:27pm, firefighters removed the only occupant in the building and by 3:40pm they had been transported to Wilson Medical Center by EMS.
The fire was declared under control by 5:46pm, with the majority of units clearing the scene at that time. Some personnel remained on-site until the Kansas State Fire Marshal arrived to begin their investigation into the cause of the fire.
