15 Defendants Including Several From SE Kansas Indicted on Federal Drug Charges

 

 Fifteen more defendants are indicted by a federal grand jury for their roles in a drug trafficking conspiracy to move drugs from San Bernadino, California, to Springfield, Missouri.

 

 Those indicted include 34-year-old Stevie Logan, 36-year-old Daron Kelly, 34-year-old Damion Williams, 47-year-old Necole Jennings, 25-year-old Osric Edwards, 54-year-old Shawn Morris, and 37-year-old Rikkita Tolbert all of Parsons, 28-year-old Christuffer Roeder of Independence, and 27-year-old Kylei Sullivan of St. Paul. Those individuals along with six others were charged in an 18-count sealed indictment on October 1st. Those charges were unsealed and made public yesterday.

 

The federal indictment alleges that the defendants participated in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine and fentanyl in Greene, Jasper, and Newton Counties.

 

The original investigation began in January when a an Oklahoma Highway Patrol Trooper found 100 pounds of methamphetamine and two pounds of fentanyl pills hidden in a car on a car hauler at a truck stop in Oklahoma City.

 

The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, the Parsons, Kan., Police Department, the Ozarks Drug Enforcement Team, and the Labette County, Kan., Sheriff’s Department.
