OSBI Identifies Human Remains Found in Eastern Oklahoma

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation has identified human remains found near Bengal, about 40 miles east of McAlester.

Investigators say the skeletal remains found in September in a wooded area northeast of Bengal are those of 25-year-old Tanner Armstrong McKosky. McKosky was reported missing on April 25, 2021, after he was last seen at a residence in Bengal.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner is still working to determine the cause of death in the case.

Anyone with additional information on this case is asked to contact the OSBI at tips@osbi.ok.gov or 1-800-522-8017.

The case remains under investigation by the O-S-B-I, the LeFlore County sheriff's Office, the Latimer County Sheriff's Office, the Choctaw Nation Tribal Police, and the FBI.
