The boil water advisory for the cities of Moline, Sedan, and Cedar Vale has been rescinded by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.
The original order was issued because the water supply systems could not maintain the minimum required chlorine residual, putting the water at risk for bacteriological contamination. Laboratory samples indicated no evidence of contamination and all other conditions that placed the system at risk have been resolved.
The KDHE says the boil water advisory remains in effect pending testing for the cities of Peru, Longton, Grenola, and Chautauqua as well as for Chautauqua County Rural Water District 1, 2, 3, and 4, Elk County Rural Water District #1 and Montgomery County Rural Water District #1C.
