The Wilson County Commission officially approve a 12-month moratorium moving forward.

 

The commission began this week's meeting by discussing whether a moratorium made sense for the county, in regards to commercial renewable energy projects.

 

Commissioner Casey Lair says he is concerned about how the moratorium will impact landowners.

 

The recent Sunflower Skies Solar Project is exempt from the ruling of this week's meeting. Commissioner Andrew Miller says he wants to make sure the process is done right.

 

The commission eventually agreed on the moratorium, with the focus being on revising the method in which the Zoning Board reviews and analyzes potential projects. There will be no meeting next week.
