The City of Columbus announces two open house events in order to give residents a chance to ask questions and give feedback on a draft version of the city's new comprehensive plan.
The comprehensive plan identifies potential growth areas in the city and lays out a plan for dealing with future increases in population and business.
City officials would also like to address rumors and misunderstandings surrounding city maps included in the draft version of the plan. One such map references a future planning boundary. That boundary represents an outer limit for future growth of the city and does not mean the city plans to annex portions of those areas.
The open house meetings are set for Thursday, October 24, and Thursday, November 14, from 5 to 7pm. They will be held at the Columbus Community Building at 320 East Maple Street. Both are come-and-go events.
