A resolution to apply for a grant for a possible Community Center fails without a motion from the Coffeyville City Commissioners.
The CDBG Community Facilities and Services grant application would cover $800,000, with the city needing to supply the remaining $1.7 to $2.7 million. City Commissioner Don Edwards says his hesitation is on the money being needed for something else.
Vice Mayor Jim Faulkner asked if the resolution could be tabled to a later meeting. Director of Bonds and Grants Amber Dean says she needed the resolution approved during this meeting. A few members of the public spoke in favor of the Community Center and the commission spoke in favor of it as well. The consensus of the commission was that it was too much money and not the right time. The resolution failed without a motion.
