A historic military convoy will be making its way through Southeast Kansas next week. The Military Vehicle Preservation Association: History In Motion convoy is traveling old Jefferson Highway from the Canadian line to New Orleans. Convoy Commander Dan McCluskey says the convoy will be in Fort Scott and then will come through the Arma-Pittsburg-West Mineral area before continuing to Joplin.
On Monday there will be a viewing at the Franklin Community Park from 11:00am to 2:30pm and then at the Crawford County Historical Museum in Pittsburg from 3:00pm to 5:30pm. On Tuesday, the convoy will be at Big Brutus near West Mineral from 3:00pm until 5:00pm. Admission to Big Brutus will be free on Tuesday starting 3:00pm. McCluskey says there are 33 vehicles that are a part of the convoy including one international one.
