An evening road closure near Carthage is caused by the crash of a semi truck full of protein drinks.
Around 5pm last night, Jasper County, MO, authorities responded to reports of an overturned tractor-trailer on the MO-96 ramp to westbound MO-171. The trailer of the truck was loaded with 41,000 pounds of protein drinks that had to be unloaded before the truck could be righted.
The driver of the truck was injured and taken to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment. The extent of his injuries are unknown. Investigators say they are treating the accident as a DWI investigation.
