Tiny houses were the main topic of conversation in last night's Caney City Council meeting, with minimum size regulations bringing the most conversation.
Developer and real estate agent Valorie Dildine questioned the wording of language presented during the council workshop last week, citing the differences between short term stay rentals and hotels. She also questioned the five hundred square foot minimum for the housing.
City Administrator Kelley Zellner says there are many factors involved with tiny houses in the community.
After a lengthy discussion, the tiny house ordinance and the award of property from the land bank were tabled until the October 21st meeting, so more information could be obtained on the issue.
In other business, the council approved the purchase of eight SBCA's with tanks for the fire department, at a cost of just over $59-thousand dollars, and extended a contract from MTB Mowing for cemetery mowing through 2026.
