A head-on collision with a semi near Cherryvale claims the life of Parsons man.

 

 The accident happened on US-169 about 5 miles south of US-400 late Saturday evening.

 

33-year-old Matthew Creed of Parsons was traveling northbound on 169 in a 2008 Toyota Scion when his vehicle crossed the center line into the path of an oncoming Freightliner driven by 52-year-old Lumomba Idlette of Fort Myers, Florida.

 

Both drivers attempted to avoid the accident by swerving onto the northbound shoulder where the two vehicles collided head-on. Creed suffered fatal injuries in the crash. The driver of the semi was uninjured.
