USD 446 Independence is looking for volunteers to take part in their TeamMates Program.
The program began in 2022 and is a mentoring program for students in 3rd through 12th grade. The program is open to both girls and boys who can either be recommended for the program or they can nominate themselves. Independence Chamber President Lisa Wilson says the program needs both male and female adult mentors, but, right now, they are really in need of men.
Volunteer mentors will receive training. Wilson says, after that, it's a very easy and rewarding experience.
