History buffs and aviation enthusiasts alike can enjoy the exhibit on display in Coffeyville this weekend as The CAF Rise Above Tuskegee Airmen WASPS Traveling Exhibit comes to the Coffeyville Airport.
The Exhibit tells the story of the Tuskegee Airmen and the Women Airforce Service Pilots or WASPS and the obstacles they both overcame to be able to serve their country during the Second World War.
Lisa Brookover with the Coffeyville Aviation Heritage Museum says it was an important exhibit to bring to southeast Kansas.
Brookover says there is also a connection between the exhibit and Coffeyville and Montgomery County.
The exhibit that includes an immersive experience in a climate controlled semi-trailer as well and a P-51C Mustang plane will be on display at the Coffeyville Airport through Sunday.
