Police in Parsons enjoy a cup of coffee with citizens.
The Parsons Police Department marked Wednesday's National Coffee with a Cop Day by sipping some coffee and chatting with Parsons citizens. The event took place Wednesday morning at the McDonald's location on North 16th Street.
Several PPD officers and Chief Robert Spinks were on hand at the casual event to talk with residents and answer questions from kids and adults alike.
National Coffee with a Cop Day began in 2011 with the purpose of breaking down barriers between police and the citizens they serve.
Parsons Police say they plan to continue to hold Coffee With a Cop events and are considering holding them in the evening hours to allow more people to attend.
