Kansas Colleges See Increased Enrollment

 

 Colleges and universities in Kansas see an increase in enrollment this fall.

 

 According to a preliminary report from the Kansas Board of Regents, the state's universities, community colleges, and technical schools saw a general increase in enrollment for the Fall 2024 semester.

 

 KU has the largest freshman class in school history, and its total enrollment hits the 26,000 mark. Kansas State's total enrollment for this fall is over 19,000 students with its largest freshman class since 2018, while Wichita State's enrollment is just over 17,000. Pittsburg State's student headcount increased slightly to 5,700 students.

 

Coffeyville Community College has also shown an increase of 2.7% while Independence Community College saw a 6.9% decrease. Labette Community College also saw a slight drop by 1.8%.

 

Total enrollment for all state institutions of higher learning is about 173,000 total students.
