Sedan City Council Reassures Public Amid Boil Water Advisory

The City of Sedan reassures the public about the recently issued boil water advisory from the Kansas Department of Health and Environment.

At yesterday's city council meeting, Sedan Public Works Director Jim Miller told council members that his department has been closely monitoring the water situation. Miller says they have put a plan in place.

Council Member Adam Clark says the work on the water comes from Public Wholesale Water Supply District 20 and not from the city.

The boil water advisory was issued this week and affects customers of P-W-W-S-D #20. In addition to the city of Sedan, the advisory affects the cities of Chautauqua, Cedar Vale, Peru, Grenola, Moline, and Longton as well as Chautauqua Rural Water Districts 1, 2, 3, and 4, Elk County Rural Water District #1 and Montgomery County Rural Water District #1C.
