Two 14-year-old girls charged with the first-degree murder of an Augusta woman enter pleas of not guilty.
The two are accused of killing 93-year-old Joanne Johnson in her Augusta home on September 3rd of last year. Because they are being tried as juveniles, the two are being referred to as I.H. And A.W. Kansas law states that no person under the age of 14 can be tried as an adult. Both girls were 13 when the alleged crime occurred.
The judge in the case denied a motion to release the affidavit and charging documents, so other details about the case will not be released.
The next hearing for both girls is scheduled for October 31.
