The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, has positively identified the man found deceased inside a pickup truck in a field in Harvey County last Sunday.
The KBI along with the Harvey County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Highway Patrol, have determined the deceased man is 42-year-old Jonathan Clayton of Peabody. Clayton has been missing since August 3rd. He had been serving as the Interim City Clerk in Peabody when allegations surfaced linking him to missing Covid funds in the central Kansas town.
An autopsy was performed and investigators say foul play is not suspected.
