The Joplin Police Department releases more details on a fatal semi-trailer rollover accident on I-44 Tuesday.
JPD says 58-year old Mario Andres Guerrero Suarez, of Blue Springs, Missouri, was killed when the semi, heading eastbound on I-44, left the roadway near the 13-mile marker, struck the center median cables, and rolled over.
Joplin Fire responded, as the trailer was carrying a corrosive chemical. The hazardous material situation was cleaned up and I-44 reopened to normal traffic just before 5:00 pm.
The crash remains under investigation by the Joplin Police Department Major Crash Team.
