Kansas officials are announcing $5.6 million in grants to help improve supply chain issues.
Governor Laura Kelly made the announcement yesterday. Forty-nine projects across the state will receive funding. Eight of those will go to infrastructure and the rest will go to food and farm businesses to improve supply chain operations.
Recipients in southeast Kansas include The Kitchen C and C in Fort Scott, Schenker Family Farms in McCune, My Country Life in Alamont, and Salt Creek Farm in Eureka.
Secretary of Agriculture Mike Beam stated that with this financial support, Kansans will see improvements across the middle of the state's food supply chain, including increased food processing infrastructure, producer aggregation points, and product storage.
