Dove season starts this Sunday in Kansas and Oklahoma. K-State Wildcat Extension District Diversified Agriculture and Natural Resource Agent Adaven Rohling says morning doves are one of the most popular game birds in all of North America.
Rohling says dove can be found in a variety of landscapes. Rohling says most dove in the area have migrated south by October but some stick around throughout the fall and winter. In Kansas, dove season runs from September 1st to November 29th, in Oklahoma from September 1st to October 31st and then reopens from December 1st to the 29th.
