A new addiction treatment center opens in Crawford County.

The Crawford County Mental Health Center held a ribbon cutting ceremony yesterday for a new addiction treatment center in Pittsburg. The center contains 24 residential and intermediate beds as well as four social detox beds. It will also house a crisis stabilization unit for short-term supportive care.

The new center is expected to allow individuals to visit the same clinician for the duration of their care and increase the number of those available to help with treatment, which should significantly increase addiction treatment in southeast Kansas.
