Resurfacing on U.S. 160 will begin this week.
The Kansas Department of Transportation expects to begin a chip seal project in Montgomery County tomorrow. The work will start at the intersection of U.S. 160 and 75 and will continue west 15 miles to the Elk County line. Flaggers and a pilot car will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone during daylight hours. Drivers can expect delays of 15 minutes or less. Weather permitting, the work should be finished in early September. KDOT awarded the construction contract to Vance Brothers Inc. and Subsidiary of Kansas City, Missouri.
