USD 484 changes their practice schedules for the junior high and high school football teams due to the heat forecasted for this week.

Tonight the junior high team will meet at the stadium at 6:00pm. They will be transported to the LES gym for walkthroughs until 7:00pm. The team will return to the high school weight room for the remainder of practice and will be released from the stadium at 8:00pm. The HS team will work out in the weight room from 6:00pm to 7:00 pm. They will then travel to the LES gym where they will go through walkthroughs until 8:00 pm. Neither team will be in helmets or pads.

Tomorrow through Thursday both teams will practice at 6:00am. Athletes will report to the stadium, dress out and participate in full practices until approximately 7:10 am. USD 484 says the change to morning practices is not ideal, but it does allow the teams to participate in full practices before games beginning next week. The forecasted combination of air temperature, humidity and wind speed does not allow teams to practice in-game gear this week, or be outside for extended periods. The weather forecast for next week is for much cooler temperatures and practice schedules should return to normal.
