Weekend Storms in Central Kansas Causes Cancellation of Air Show

Early morning storms in central Kansas causes the cancellation of yesterday's portion of an airshow at a Wichita air base.

The Frontiers in Flight airshow that had been slated to happen yesterday at McConnell Air Force Base in Wichita was canceled after strong storms moved through the area. Wind gusts caused several small planes to overturn. A total of 10 people were injured after heavy winds, lightning, and rain hit the air force base on the south side of Wichita. Six of those injured were military personnel, while four were civilian vendors. Two of the injured people were transported to a nearby hospital.

More than 65,000 attended activities at the air show on Saturday.
